The snow is falling in Boise, and people are slipping and sliding all over the place.

Let's put America's two most popular sports cars head to head in a snowy battle for the ages.

It's a commonly known fact (if it's not, I'm about to drop some knowledge on you) that rear-wheel-drive sports cars are horrendous in the snow. No traction, spin outs, skidding, you've seen it 1,000 times. Being that Camaros and Mustangs are uber-popular, we'll focus on those two vehicles.

How can we determine which is worse in winter driving conditions? Let's look at the tale of the tape:

2018 Ford Ecoboost Fastback

  • Base Curb Weight: 3,542lbs
  • Horsepower: 310hp
  • Torque: 350 ft/lb

2018 Chevrolet Camaro 1Ls

  • Base Curb Weight: 3,339lbs
  • Horsepower: 275hp
  • Torque: 295 ft/lb

Both vehicles, in their base form, are pretty comparable. Now, the nitty gritty. Which vehicle is worse in the snow?

Neither.

The worst vehicle to drive in the snow is a 4-wheel-drive giant pickup truck driven at 70 miles per hour on the damn highway with snow all over the place. You know who I'm talking about. Just because you're in a lifted truck with all-wheel-drive doesn't mean you can go freakin' 70 IN A SNOWSTORM. You'll reply with "Pffft I'm a good driver blah blah blah." Great. Next time we get hit with snow like this, take a look on the side of the freeway and tell me what vehicles you see the most of. Even giant 4-wheel-drive trucks can't stop properly on snow and ice.

Now, this is not me knocking trucks. I love them. This is me specifically knocking drivers who operate like maniacs when there's snow and ice on the ground. I'm from Michigan. Snow is what we do.

Slow down. Even if you've got a bad ass truck. Trust me.
