Mountain Lion Attacks Idaho Girl

A 4 year old girl is lucky to be a live this morning after being attacked by a mountain lion during a family camping trip. 

It happened near Green Canyon Hot Springs just east of Rexburg on Friday night.

The family had spotted the mountain lion earlier in the day but never imagined it would try and snatch their 4 year old daughter.

That's exactly what happened. The mountain lion approached the families camp and grabbed the 4 year old. The screaming and yelling by other family members scared the mountain lion and luckily he dropped the little girl before she suffered serious injuries.

The 4 year old obtained some scratches in the attack and was taken to the Eastern Idaho Medical Center in Idaho Falls to be checked out.

According to KTVB and Idaho Fish and Game, these kinds of attacks are rare. The mountain lion has been killed and other campers in the area were alerted to the situation.
