Why would a respectable dentist in Mountain Home risk everything he has to sell drugs intended to sedate patients on the side?

57-year-old John Earl Goodrich has been charged with selling the drug Halcion to someone with the initials S.T. on July 8.  Halcion is used to put someone to sleep or sedate them.

A warrant has been issued and Goodrich was just taken into custody.  He was booked into the Ada County Jail on a felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance within 1.000 feet of a school.  That's not all!  Six months ago Goodrich was charged with lewd behavior with a child under 16.  This isn't looking good for the guy.  He has pleaded not guilty to the sex charge and hasn't had an opportunity to make a plea yet for the drug charges.  He's currently free on a $10,000 bond.
