Mountain Biker Killed On Boise Trails
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the young man who died riding his mountain bike on the Avimor Trail System Saturday morning. His identity has not been revealed yet but we should know later on this afternoon. We do know that he was 38-years old and he was riding bikes with a friend at the time of his death.
According to the Idaho Statesman, a friend looked at one point and couldn't find the 38-year-old man and immediately started backtracking, asking people if they'd seen another biker. Finally, he saw some tire marks heading off into a ravine about 15 to 20 feet down and that's where he saw the body. His 38-year-old friend wasn't breathing and lifeless but CPR was attempted regardless. Some hikers came by and called 911 but it was too late. A helicopter immediately took off trying to make it in time to save a life but the young man was pronounced dead at the scene.
This biking trail is considered fairly moderate and not too advanced so accidents like this are rare and surprising. Please keep this young man's family in your prayers tonight.
