1. Sandpoint: Northern Idaho has the highest aggravated assault rate in the state and this small town is not immune to crime.

2. Twin Falls: It's the #1 place in the state for illegal methamphetamine use and the city has had this drug problem for more than a decade.

3. Shosone: They have the highest violent crime rate in the state. Your chances of being assaulted are 1 in 114.

4. Lewiston: This city has the highest level of alcohol abuse in the state. 18.6% of adults admit to binge or heavy drinking and 25.6% of car crashes are alcohol related.

5. Coeur d'Alene: Here you have a 1 in 179 chance of being a victim of a violent crime.

Other places you may want to be leery of after dark are Caldwell, Bonneville County, and the Magic Valley which have the highest gang rates in the state.
