Garden City Police say they were forced to tase a man Saturday night outside the Chevron on Chinden and Maple Grove.

The 911 call that came in reported a suspicious man walking around the middle of the street around 6 p.m.  When police arrived, he lied about his name and age.  Then he just took off running.  He was then tased and police took him into custody.

Police did have their guns drawn, luckily they were not necessary.  With recent violent events surrounding our officers around the country lately, it's nice to see everyone walk away from this situation unharmed.

The man has been arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail for resisting arrest and providing false information to police.
