He was just 32-years-old when a suspected drunk driver slammed into the back of his vehicle and he was killed. Now we know a little more about the man who was taken so suddenly.

Herbie Douglas Moran was ejected from his vehicle when 23-year-old Courtni Verity rear-ended him at a high rate of speed near Ten Mile and Ustick. His family says he was headed to a friends house to play video games.

According to the Meridian Police Department, alcohol is believed to have played a factor in the crash.

In a statement released by Herbie's family, they said in part

He was loved by anyone who met him. Herbie was the type of person who would do anything for anyone. He loved his family and friends. Herbie loved to cook and play video games on his spare time. He had several degrees from ITT Tech, and loved computers. You could always find him fixing or building computers for not only himself, but for his friends and family. He could walk into a room and you'd instantly get a smile. Our family is devestated at this great loss. Nobody could ever prepare or even imagine this happening to their family.

On the flip side of this tragic story, Courtni Verity who comes from a wonderful family here in the Treasure Valley made up of loving parents, 3 sisters, and two brothers has been issued a $500,000 bond. She is scheduled to make her next court appearance on August 6th according to idahonews.com.

Let's not forget that two families and many people who love both Herbie and Courtni have been affected by this terrible turn of events.

Although Courtni's impairment has not been completely confirmed to the public, let us please all commit to not drink and drive.
