Crews are completely removing this I-84 interchange in Nampa.

The westbound ramp of Exit 33B on the I-84 Kartcher interchange will be permanently removed on Monday, October 15th.

According to idahonews.com the work will pretty much be done overnight. Starting at 8 p.m. Monday night and wrapping up around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.

This means all westbound traffic will be forced to use the loop ramp or Exit 33.

The whole goal is to make some much-needed improvements in this area that include adding a second southbound lane to Midland Blvd. Crews will also add a second left turn lane from the Kartcher bypass to southbound Midland blvd and they will upgrade the sidewalks and traffic signals in this area as part of the project.

Those improvements are expected to be complete by the beginning of November.

I'm all for making our roads flow better with more efficiency, but this always comes with frustrations while we go through the process. Remember to use a lot of extra caution in this area and follow all of the construction signs.
