Kuna Man Stabs Woman, Then Self
Ya know those stories you read that just make you go, "soooooooooo glad they caught them." Well, this is definitely one of them. A Kuna man is in jail after he reportedly attacked a woman with a knife, and then stabbed HIMSELF! The alleged attack happened on Friday night.
Kuna police were sent to a home near the intersection of Linder and Deer Flat roads at roughly 11:30 PM. When they arrived, they discovered a woman who was bleeding due to several stab wounds to her arms.
According to the victim, the assailant in the attack was 63-year-old William Franklin Mitchell. She told investigators that he had stabbed her several times before she managed to get away and run to a neighbor's house. Once there, the neighbors called the police. The victim also told police that he had threatened to hurt himself.
According to reports, police set up a perimeter around Mitchell's home and tried to contact him but were unsuccessful. After the attempt to peacefully get in touch with Mitchell, officers unlocked the door and found him lying still on a bed with a knife wound near his neck.
Both the victim and Mitchell were taken to a nearby hospital where investigators determined that neither of their injuries were life threatening.
After his short stay at the hospital, Mitchell was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on a felony charge of aggravated battery with a bond set at $100,000. If convicted, Mitchell could face 15 years in prison.
