Kootenai County Prisoners Escape From Jail

Steven Douglas Roche and Chad Everett Tipton are at large.  They've escaped and they're on the run.

They were transferred to the Yakima County Correction Center but authorities want all eyes open for these guys.  They have ties to Idaho and easily could end up back here.  They may already be here.

Roche was being held on burglary and grand theft charges.  Tipton for assault with a firearm, aggravated battery, unlawful possession of a firearm, and resisting arrest.  DO NOT approach these men if seen.  Please call the authorities as soon as possible.

They were first noticed missing when guards did a head count at Yakima County Corrections at 4 a.m. on Tuesday.  They were two short.  After some investigating they realized who it was and the hunt's been on ever since.  They escaped through a door from the inside recreational area leading to the outside area which was unlocked.

The two of them were moved to the Yakima facility because of over crowding at the Kootenai Jail.  We don't know if either or both are armed but they are considered dangerous.  Any information is helpful.  Call 911 if you or someone you know has info on where they are.
