In the wake of the school shooting at Umpqua Community College in Oregon, Idaho schools are cracking down on extra safety. When incidents like this occur it wakes you up to the harsh realities of what can happen and it's easy to feel insecure in your own back yard, but trained security officers are patrolling our college campuses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and they are working in tandem with the Boise Police Department.

Boise State has also invested in a state-of-the-art emergency notification system and school leaders throughout the Treasure Valley want people to know that safety on their campuses are a top priority.
