We're known for biking and great food, so how do these elements mix and how does the health of Idahoans compare to other states?

A new study conducted by msn.com shows that Idaho is the 15th healthiest state in the country. Not the best, not the worst. Hawaii takes the cake (no pun intended) for the 5th year in a row as the healthiest state in America. On the opposite end Mississippi comes in dead last with premature death on the rise. Interestingly MSN correlates lack of education in the state with their health issues.

Here's what the stats show.

  • 28.6% of Idahoans are obese
  • There are 229.2 cardiovascular deaths per 100,000 people
  • We are below the national rate for diabetes, cancer deaths, and smokers

Not to shabby Idaho!! Maybe all those carby potatoes get to us a bit but we're still alright!
