The restless souls of sailors, vindictive prisoners, screams, and strange sounds. This is the most haunted campground in Idaho. 

If you live here in the Treasure Valley, you'll have to travel up north to get to this spot, but if you're into spooky it may be well worth your drive.

Farragut State Park

Between 1942 and 1946 Farragut was a German Prisoner of War site. Over 293,000 sailors were also trained and housed in the area.

Here's what people have reported seeing and hearing while camping 

 

  • There have been several sightings of a man in uniform walking along the shore.

 

  • A former jail on the outskirts of the forest is now a museum, but when darkness sinks in there are reports of clinking cells, yells, and echos within the compound.

 

  • Campers have seen prisoners peaking out of the bars.

 

  • Locals tell the story of a German prisoner who was captured and killed in the lower level of the brig. His body was left behind to rot and they say his spirit haunts the area to this day.

 

  • A stone statue of the face of a sailor has been rumored to move.

 

  • Campers have also reported signs of flickering lights and strange sounds along the trails.
