Traveling this holiday season on the roads here in Idaho CAN and WILL be treacherous.  Temperatures have significantly dropped and rain clouds continue to form bringing in rain and snow.  My hope is that everyone slows down, drives defensively, and makes safety the top priority when out driving.  Hopefully, we can have very few accidents and even more important, fatalities.

Early this morning 46-year-old Christopher Averett of Pocatello, Idaho was driving west on I-84 in his Honda Accord.  According to KTVB, Averett lost control of his vehicle in the Jerome County area at approximately 12:47 this morning.  The Honda ended up rolling and Averett did not have a seatbelt on.  He was thrown from the vehicle and instantly killed.

I-84 was blocked for about three hours but has been cleared ever since.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Christopher Averett.
