Idaho Woman Jailed For Leaving Kids Home Alone

In the past week we've had two cases of men leaving babies in hot cars... one of them died, and now this!

33-year-old Angela Nelson is locked up in the Ada County Jail for leaving her children at home alone.  Leaving your kids at home alone is one thing but leaving them so you can go buy alcohol does not look good.

This Idaho City woman was taken into custody Saturday morning after a concerned neighbor called the Kuna Police Department and told them what was going on.  Nelson allegedly has been leaving her 8-year-old and 10-month-old alone numerous times so she can get drunk.  When officers arrived at Nelson's home she was asleep while another adult was watching over her kids.

Investigators found evidence of both kids being left alone multiple times.  When the 8-year-old girl was asked what she should do in case of an emergency when her mom was gone, she said she didn't know.

Nelson has been arrested and charged with two felony counts of child endangerment.  If found guilty she could face up to 10 years in prison.  Her children are currently staying with family members.
