Idaho Prisoner of War to Plead Guilty on Desertion Charges
Many have heard the story of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl who left his post in Afghanistan and was held captive by the Taliban for five years. Now this Idaho boy is pleading guilty to desertion.
Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is originally from the Sun Valley/ Ketchum area. He is expected to plead guilty to charges of desertion and misbehavior in a couple weeks and his sentencing will be handed down October 23rd.
The charges hold very serious consequences. According to KTVB, Bergdahl is facing up to five years for the desertion charge and life in prison on charges of misbehaving in front of the enemy.
