We've heard of snow and ice shutting down airports and delaying flights, but I think this is the first time I've ever heard of an animal delaying a flight. Well, it happened, and right here in Idaho.

According to KTVB, a Delta flight coming in from Salt Lake City, UT to Friedman Memorial Airport in Hailey, was delayed about 20 minutes because of a mountain lion that was spotted on the runway. They actually had to abort their initial landing.

According to the report from the Idaho Mountain Express, there were tracks along the perimeter fence that indicated it had been hanging out for a couple of days. Employees at the airport attempted to corral the mountain lion, but unfortunately because of the time constraints, an Idaho Fish and Game conservation officer had to put it down.

With these reports of mountain lions in the Boise foothills, could it be possible that they could roam close to the Boise airport? I really hope not!!
