Did the man get E. coli? Does he have a right to sue? Get ready for a rollercoaster of produce.

William Whitt claims that after eating at a Papa Murphy's in Nampa, he became so sick he had to be hospitalized. His theory? That nasty E.coli romaine lettuce that's been going around.

Helping his case is the fact that seven other Americans have filed lawsuits against restaurants in similar cases including:

  • Papa Murphy's
  • Texas Roadhouse
  • Panera Bread
  • Freshway
  • Red Lobster

The nail in the coffin is Whitt's lawsuit claims he tested positive for E.coli after dining at the Papa Murphy's restaurant in question. So far in 2018, there have been 172 Americans sickened by this recent E.coli outbreak.

Luckily, we don't have to live in fear of ending up like these diners. The CDC says it's "highly unlikely" that the tainted romaine lettuce is still on shelves across America.
