Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of 51-year-old James L. Brannen who died this morning after his vehicle veered off the west side of U.S. Highway 20 in Carey, Idaho onto the east side where he ended up crashing head-on with a cattle truck.

According to KTVB, the driver of the cattle truck (64-year-old William Featherston of Sun River, Montana) was not injured in the accident and there were no cattle inside at the time of the collision.

There is only speculation right now as to what made Brannen veer over that center line, a mistake that tragically ended up being his last.

The accident took place a bit after midnight this morning so, as you can imagine, the family is absolutely devastated.  Please keep them in your thoughts today.
