Two people gone in the blink of an eye. Three children badly injured, and lives changed forever. Here's what led to this horrific crash.

It happened in Northern Idaho, in Clark Fork, along Spring Creek Road, at 4:55 p.m. on Wednesday.

39-year-old Vicki S. Dettwiler-Hunter was headed north when she came around a curve, crossed the center line and hit a Dodge 3500 pickup head-on.

Behind the wheel of the pick-up was Kyler A. Burnham of Sandpoint, just 21-years-old.

Vicki wasn't wearing her seatbelt, neither was the man in the passenger seat of her Nissan Sentra, 57-year-old Jamy L. McCoy of Cape Canaveral, Florida. Both were killed on impact according to KTVB.

No word yet on the relationship between the two victims or their relationship to the three children in the backseat. All three of whom were injured.

Two of the kids were hurt despite being buckled in, but one child had to be airlifted to the hospital and was listed in critical condition as of Wednesday.

As for Kyler, the 21-year-old behind the truck, he was wearing a seatbelt and wasn't injured.

Please keep everyone affected by this horrible crash in your thoughts and prayers and may it serve as yet another reminder to buckle up and never take a single day for granted.
