Idaho 5th Grader to Light National Christmas Tree

A 5th grader from St. Mary's in Boise will travel to Washington D.C. next month to help light the National Christmas Tree!

Isabella Gerard was shocked and overcome with emotion when she found out she has been chosen to help light the National Christmas Tree in the Nation's Capitol this year.

According to KTVB, the students at St. Mary's were gathered for what they thought was a regular assembly, but one student would be winning a trip and an experience of a lifetime!

The National Christmas Tree was chosen from right here in Idaho in the Payette National Forest.
