Slipping, sliding, bad driving, accidents, and now they're shutting down parts of I-84 because of snow and ice.

Stretches of I-84 were shut down this afternoon between Ontario and Pendleton because of bad weather conditions.  The Oregon Department of Transportation stated that I-84 was closed between Exit 374 and exit 216 because not only was the snow and ice extensive but fog as well.

I-84 westbound is closed to passenger vehicles between Baker City exit 302 and Pendleton exit 216,

The extended truck closure is because ODOT said there's no safe storage or parking for trucks in Baker City and La Grande.

Eastbound I-84 is open, but ODOT advises drivers to expect winter conditions and dense fog as they climb Cabbage Hill.
