Should I-84 be widened from Nampa to Caldwell? Your feedback is wanted!

COMPASS - or the Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho wants to know what you think about some possible changes to the corridor between Nampa and Caldwell and some other highways in the area

  • Should I-84 be widened to allow for more traffic?
  • Should the Idaho Transportation Department begin some preliminary work to extend Highway 16 to I-84?
  • Should Valley Regional Transit begin design work on a transit oriented development in Nampa?

If you have input on these questions, then you have until January 23rd to give them your thoughts.

Personally, I would like to see the extension from Highway 16 to I-84 completed. I think it would take some traffic "pressure" from Eagle Rd, State Street (Hwy 44), as well as Ten Mile Rd. As it stands now, from where I live, there is NO easy way to get to the interstate to get into downtown Boise, or other destinations like the airport, Boise State and The Village.

Your thoughts are certainly welcome and they would love to hear them!
