This Friday, free fries will be flying all over downtown Boise in a potato duel like you've never seen before.

Over at JUMP, JR Simplot Co will be dishing out fries from 4-7 p.m. for Free Fry Day. According to boisedev.com, the event will benefit the Idaho Food Bank, but they've got some competition this year.

Lamb Weston will host "I Love Fries" on the Basque Block from 3-6 p.m., but with this deal, it's more about benefiting the Idaho Food Bank than getting free fries because a $5 donation is requested with the opportunity to win free fries for a year!

No matter which event you support, all donations are going to support a great cause. Nearly a quarter of a million people here in Idaho are food insecure. These are our neighbors who don't know where their next meal is going to come from. Their fridges and pantries are often bare. These are parents who are going without food, just so they can feed their kids.

So go grab some of those salty fries on that this great state is known for on Friday!
