This 6 and 7-year-old are still with us today because of the smarts, bravery, and intuition of a few good men (and women).

By now most of us know how Jaylynn and Madison were abducted by their father almost a week ago.  Taken from school and then just disappearing.  Their father's burnt camper from his truck in Nevada caused a lot of alarm and most thought the worst.  Within a few hours from there these two girls would be sitting in a hospital, getting checked out for exposure issues, reunited with loved ones and family.  But how did it happen?  Who saw them and who saved them?

Let's first give props to the Amber Alert system which basically prohibits these guys from going anywhere at any time without being spotted.  Not only our community but communities surrounding us stood together praying, hoping, and watching for any types of clues that would bring these girls home safely.

At 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 15 the Eureka County Sheriff's Department received a call stating a white male in his late 20's walked out of the hills towards an occupied ranch.  The owner of the ranch confirmed that this white male was Jaylnny and Madison's father, 29-year-old Joshua Dundon.

At that point it was every man on deck for the Eureka County Sheriff's Department and Dundon was taken without incident.  Dundon told the Sheriffs that the girls were still alive in the hills.

The weather had changed and it was starting to rain so efforts to retrieve the girls were fast and furious.  Sheriffs, EMT's, volunteer firefighters, Diamond Valley firefighters, Search and Rescue, the Nevada Division of Investigations, Bureau of Land Management Rangers along with volunteer citizens and ranchers all combined to cover the 4 mile area the girls might be in.

The girls were found under a tree at approximately 7 p.m.  They were tired, scared, hungry but strong and courageous.  We want to thank all of these great people that came together and made a difference.
