Anybody that's ever been downtown on a warm summer night knows what a cool vibe it can have. Several great restaurants, shops, clubs and theaters to check out - all within walking distance of each other. You also know that inevitably someone drives by with their windows down...and their stereo blasting. The bass thumping to the point that it rattles store windows and makes your heart skip beats.

Well, this summer, the Boise PD will be looking for those drivers, or people who are excessively noise. It can be a loud muffler, a loud stereo or a loud drunk.

So if you're thinking about "tearing it up" downtown Boise this summer, you may want to do it quietly.  This from the Boise Police Department - released today (5/5/2016)

Officers will be looking for loud stereos, modified mufflers, and other forms of excessive noise.  Citations can range from $65 up to hundreds of dollars depending on the crime and court fees.

Officers will be looking for violations throughout downtown Boise but focusing on 13th and 14th streets and Main and Idaho.
