Ok, the Costco in Northwest Meridian is apparently definitely happening after so many off and on rumors. According to the Idaho Statesman, however, opponents are still trying to fight it off. Despite the opposition, there have been new renderings submitted for the new store on the corner of Chinden Blvd and N. Ten Mile Road. The new drawing was made after the City Council asked for something "aesthetically pleasing."

Approval of the store was pending the City's acceptance of the new renderings (see the proposed look below). According to the Statesman, they'll make that decision at the meeting tonight (7/24) at 6 p.m. - Meridian City Hall, 33 E. Broadway Ave.

Opponents of the new location are worried about traffic and decreased home values. Some residents said they wouldn't have bought a home in nearby subdivisions had they known a Costco would be built close by. If everything gets approved, the new store could be opening its doors by the end of 2019.
