Freeway Closed Due to Foot of Water

A major stretch of interstate is closed due to a foot of standing water. 

Crews are out inspecting the situation again this morning, but I-86 has flooded east of the I-84 / I-86 junction near Raft River.

According to KTVB, water is covering both eastbound and westbound lanes in the area.

Water runoff from melting snow has caused the problem.

There is no official detour near the closure but alternate routes you may want to take between Burley and Pocatello include I-84 to I-15 or you can HWY 93 from Twin Falls to Arco and then HWY 26 to I-15 near Blackfoot.
