He worked as a Boise Police Officer and now he and his wife are facing grand theft charges.

Mark Furniss was hired as a Boise Police Officer in 2007 and had served as President of the local Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, but he stepped down in the wake of felony charges.

Mark Furniss and his wife Sara were booked into the ADA County Jail late Friday night. According to KTVB, both have since been released on bond.

Back in January, members of the lodge's executive board found discrepancies in the lodges financial accounts. Mark was serving as President of the lodge at this time and his wife was working as a part-time office-manager for the lodge.

The Meridian Police Department and the Boise Police Department's Internal Affairs office were looking into the alleged discrepancies until the Nampa Police Department took over to avoid a conflict of interest case.

Enough evidence was found to charge the Furniss' with grand theft. Mark Furniss will appear in court on December 2nd, while his wife will be in court December 5th.
