A house in Nampa has been destroyed by fireworks. Here's what happened and how you can keep things safe in your neighborhood.

According to KTVB, it happened around 1:45 Tuesday morning at a home on Whisperwood Place off of Lake Lowell Road and Midland Blvd.

The fire marshal says the fire started on the back of the roof and when the roof collapsed the entire house went up in flames.

Two people were in the house when the fire started, but they escaped uninjured.

The house is a complete loss.

Officials say it appears that an illegal firework started the blaze.

It's important to remember that aerial fireworks have been banned within city limits even though the 4th of July has passed.
