Downtown Boise had lots of activity from the Boise Fire Department this morning when a fire ripped through both the Brickyard Steakhouse and Amsterdam Lounge.  Fortunately, the automatic sprinkler system went off saving these buildings and surrounding buildings and businesses from further damage but the damage done at the Brickyard and Amsterdam is significant.

According to KTVB, the fire started with a plate unit warmer built into the wall of the Brickyard Steakhouse.  It was left on and the wooden plates eventually caught fire.  The fire spread into the Amsterdam Lounge and fire officials say there is a lot of water, smoke, and fire damage in both buildings.

The fire broke out about 5:45 this morning and nobody was injured or hurt.  We'll keep you posted on what the Brickyard and Amsterdam's future plans are.
