Female Officer Choked by Nampa Man
BAD MOVE! 20-year-old Jeremiah Heady of Nampa is currently sitting in Canyon County Jail after he allegedly attempted to choke a 16 year female veteran officer while she was trying to arrest him on Sunday afternoon.
The officer, who's name has not been released, was called to a disturbance at a home on West Crestwood Dr. when she confronted Heady who, according to reports was carrying a large stick. Heady was ordered to drop the stick which he refused. The officer somehow managed to get the stick away from Heady, however he began fighting with her while she attempted to arrest him.
Police say that Heady managed to get behind the officer and placed his arm around her throat. Once more officers arrived at the scene Heady surrendered.
The officer is currently at home recovering from her injuries after being treated at a Nampa hospital.
Heady now faces charges of felony battery on a police officer, resisting and obstructing an officer, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.
