It's been 40 years since Evel Knievel attempted to jump the Snake River Canyon.  Now... one of his fans from Idaho attempts it again.

Eddie Braun grew up idolizing Evel Knievel.  They met at a Southern California dirt track where Knievel made his first public jump.  Ever since, Braun's wanted nothing more than to be a stuntman.  Braun's been in The Dukes of Hazard and served as a stuntman to actors Charlie Sheen and Ray Liotta.

On September 17 Braun heads to Idaho and will strap himself into a steam-powered rocket cycle in an effort to jump the Snake River Canyon just like his idol attempted to do 40 years ago.

September 8, 1974 is when Knievel took the jump which ended with a parachute deploying early which kept him from completing the task.  The debate has gone on for years as to if the rocket had a malfunction that deployed the parachute early or if Knievel finally lost his nerve and deployed it himself.

Either way Braun feels this is the perfect way to pay respects to the legend who inspired him to be the best of stunt men.  The Jerome County launch site will only allow 499 viewers so if you're interested, show up early.
