May have seemed like a good idea, but a panel has just killed a bill that would make election days school holidays.

According to Chief Deputy Ada County Clerk Phil McGrane, the idea behind the bill was to make it so schools could serve as polling places without dealing with the possible dangers of having strangers around children.  In addition, having adequate polling facilities is a big problem that clerks have had to deal with across Idaho.

On the other hand, the argument from school board members and schools district officials is that who were against the bill is that not ALL schools serve as polling places during elections.
