It isn't your imagination. It is taking Idahoans longer to take care of business at the DMV. The cause is a little unsettling.

At least 34 times this year, the Idaho Department of Motor Vehicles has experienced network-wide computer outages, some lasting almost over two hours. The problem is, when their computers go down, it means longer and longer wait times for us at the DMV. Trying to renew your license? If the DMV computers go down, you may not be able to.

On Tuesday, the Idaho DMV shut down nearly every single branch statewide to try and resolve their tech woes. The good news is they plan on doing a complete overhaul with new servers in spring 2018. At least it's good to know that everyone's work computers everywhere are unbearably slow, and it's not just your officee.
