She was in a Boise crosswalk downtown when all of a sudden the unthinkable happened.

A 52 year old woman whose identity has not been released yet was hit by a pickup truck at the intersection of 8th Street and Front Street this morning at 8:11 a.m.

According to KTVB, the driver of the truck, 24 year old Gabriel Diaz of Caldwell has been cited with "failure to yield."

Luckily it looks like the woman's injuries are minor because it could have been a whole lot worse. She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and was hit when Diaz tried to turn on Front Street.

Let this incident serve as a reminder to really be on the lookout for cyclists, especially this time of year and with BSU back in session. I had a cyclist dart out in front of me just yesterday without even looking. She was using a crosswalk and had the right of way, but it was a good reminder to me to be extra cautious.
