"If my dad can get through this brain trauma in the hospital he's going through, I can do anything".  That's how Daniel motivates himself to win an Idaho State Championship in wrestling.

Daniel's one of the favorites in the heavy weight division from Columbia High School.  Coming back from a wrestling meet last month he made the decision to ride home on the bus with his team rather than travel with his parents.  His parents were in a bad accident where their car rolled 6 times and both mom and dad were not in good shape.  Mom's back home now but dad is suffering from sever brain trauma.  He still lies in a hospital bed fighting for his life.

Daniel continues to wrestle.  He continues to move forward in life, bettering himself every day and he's motivated by the fight his father has to live.  When he takes to the mat, he thinks of his dad, every time.  And for that... we acknowledge this courageous young man as our hero!

We opened up the phones on the Rick and Carly show this morning and here's some of the heroes we found out about.

  • America in Nampa says her hero is her 2 yr old girl who's always in pain and going through constant surgeries and therapy.  This little one has taught their family how to never give up.

  • Antara's little brother was murdered on Garrity last March.  They never found the killer and Antara has used her parent's strength to help her get through an impossible situation.  She says "Thank you mom and dad for being my rock!"

  • Kayden was diagnosed with cancer when she was only 14 years old.  Her heroes are everyone that supported her at Nampa High School and of course mom for traveling that difficult journey with her.  Kayden's now cancer free!

Everyone has a hero.  Everyone can be a hero.  Make sure you take the opportunity to be just that.  We all make a difference!
