Climber Kills Himself After Girlfriend’s Death

27-year-old Hayden Kennedy could not go on after losing his soul mate while the two of them were skiing in dangerous terrain that triggered an avalanche that only one of them would survive.

The Idaho Statesman shared a story this morning about one man, so in love, that he could not live on without his partner.  Kennedy has seen many friends die doing what they love.  Hiking, skiing, taking adventure to levels that most would only dream about but losing 23-year-old Inge Perkins was just too much.

A modern day Romeo and Juliet.  If you've ever loved someone like Kennedy loved Perkins then you know.  It wasn't about right or wrong.  It wasn't about being selfish in a weak moment.  For Kennedy there was only one person in this whole world and he found that person.  The two of them really did complete each other and when that fateful day came where they were skiing on Imp Peak in the southern Madison Range in Montana on Saturday afternoon when an avalanche they triggered came roaring down the mountain at 150 feet wide and took the life of Kennedy's one true love, he just couldn't go on.

Kennedy was found dead in his Bozeman home on Sunday afternoon.  His parents said...

"Hayden survived the avalanche but not the unbearable loss of his partner in life.  Hayden was an uncensored soul whose accomplishments as a mountaineer were always secondary to his deep friendships and mindfulness."

One can only hope that these two beautiful people have been reunited and that all those that knew Kennedy and Perkins can move forward and live on.  Our thoughts and prayers are with them.
