A Garden City man was arrested this afternoon for a car jacking.

It happened around noon in the 3100 block of Chinden Blvd. 35-year-old Jermaine James Arrats grabbed the driver of a 2014 Nissan GTR that's worth over $100,000.  There was an altercation which left the driver with minor injuries.  Several people standing by tried to stop Arrats from leaving but he sped off quickly towards I-84.  He crashed the vehicle near Latah and Crescent Rim Drive in Boise.  This allowed Boise and Garden City Police to catch Arrats who fled on foot.

Police say he appeared to be on drugs and was wearing only socks and underwear.  Arrats was recently released on parole and will now be charged with robbery and aggravated assault.
