It's a situation in which nobody wants to find themselves. However, it seems to be one we've seen all too much lately.  With incidents such as the shootings in San Bernardino, Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, and many others, active shooter tragedies have become all too common.

This is why Boise State offers students, faculty, and staff an active shooter training course and due to all the recent shootings, demand has been on the rise.  John Kaplan, an instructor for the course says, "What we're trying to get across here is a way to respond to a difficult event as opposed to just reacting.  The skill set one would get after leaving this, after being exposed to this material, would work anywhere."

While credit is not offered for taking the course, the skill set that one will learn could save their life as well as others.
