Boise Woman Dies In Canyon County Rollover

At 10:14 on Friday night a rollover on I-84 near Caldwell resulted in a Boise woman's death.

The crash occurred on the westbound side of I-84 around mile marker 31.  38-year-old Timothy Ficarro was driving a 2001 Chevy Malibu that blew a tire.  This caused the vehicle to abruptly swerve off the right shoulder and flip.

There were two passengers with Ficarro, a 33-year-old woman named Jessica Smith and a 3-year-old boy.  Smith died at the scene of the accident.  Ficarro and the 3-year-old boy were transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center and it's not known at this time what the condition of the boy is.  Ficarro has been released from the hospital.  Both adults were not wearing seat belts.  The 3-year-old was buckled into his car seat but it was not secured.
