A tragic ending to a plane that went missing between Boise and McCall.

According to KTVB, the plane was found in the mountainous area South of Smith's Ferry, and it has been confirmed that the pilot did not survive the crash.

Even more heartbreaking is the fact that the pilot was young, just 34 years old. His name was Nolan W. Smith and he was from Boise.

Nolan was flying a four-seater Cessna 182. He left Boise at about 12:30 p.m. on Sunday headed for McCall, but loved ones became concerned when he never showed up.

Authorities had a hard time finding Nolan and his plane because a flight plan wasn't filed. The crash will continue to be investigated. So far there is no word on what caused the plane to go down, but please keep this young man's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. With a mountain biker killed in a crash on Saturday, we've had too many young, tragic, deaths in the Treasure Valley over the last few days.
