With soaring temperatures this week, a cooling station has been opened in Boise to help homeless families in the Treasure Valley stay cool!

At the Pioneer Community Center, 500 S. Ash Street in Boise you'll find a temporary cooling station for people that just can't get out of the heat.

The cooling station will be open from 1pm to 5:30 pm when temperatures are 95 degrees or hotter.

According to KTVB, you don't need a referral to visit the cooling station, it's just a kid-friendly air conditioned environment for anyone who needs to get out of the heat.

The Boise Department of Parks and Recreation also wants the public to know that they need diapers of all sizes, bottled water, children's shorts, flip-flops, and t-shirts. Items can be dropped off at the cooling station as well.
