After five years, Boise City Hall Plaza is going to get a little upgrade.

Demolition of the existing plaza will start in March, and the The Cottonwods Grove project should be completed in June.

Phase one will include: iron panels with cutouts in the shapes of leaves and branches, the and a low-water fountain.

The second phase will include a series of steps and a small lawn, she said, as well as a grove of real trees of various species, including river birch.

The project is estimated to cost about $3.7 million,
