A husband and father taken just before Mother's Day in a tragic crash in the Boise Foothills has now been identified.

38-year-old Jason Delgadillo crashed just before 9 a.m. on Saturday morning on the Spring Valley Creek Trail.

According to KTVB, Delgadillo was riding with another man when the pair became separated. Jason was eventually found at the bottom of a deep gulch, in a creek, about 10 to 15 feet from the trail. When his friends discovered him, he was not breathing.

CPR was attempted by both Delgadillo's friends and emergency responders, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Delgadillo was a very experienced mountain biker who co-founded boisetrails.com. Friends of Jason's say he influenced everyone he met for the better. He is survived by his wife and five children.
