The Susan G. Komen "Race for the Cure" is less than two months away! Here's why you should join our team and become a WOW Walking Warrior today!

Almost all of us have been touched by not only cancer, but breast cancer specifically. For me it was when I lost my dear friend Debbie Peterson. Debbie is my best friends Mom. She passed away from inflammatory breast cancer nearly 16 years ago. Their family has never been the same. Debbie and I shared the same birthday and she always made me feel so welcome in her home. I miss her all the time.

If breast cancer hasn't touched you yet, statistics show it probably will. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast during her lifetime. Unfortunately, Idaho ranks nearly last in the nation for women over 40 getting mammograms.

Here's a few other shocking statistics!

  • 87% of women diagnosed with breast cancer do not have a family history of breast cancer.
  • 2000 men are diagnosed with breast cancer on average each year. About 400 of them will die.
  • Luckily, when detected early, 98% of breast cancer survivors will be cancer free 5 years later.

Let's male a real difference this year. Mark your calendars for May 7th and join our team WOW's Walking Warriors right now!
