Our thoughts and prayers go out to these poor families in this tragic time.  At least five elementary kids will not see Thanksgiving or Christmas this year.  And their parents are suffering heart ache and loss that is indescribable.

There was only 24 hours left until Thanksgiving break.  One short day away from these beautiful children being home with their moms, dads, sisters, brothers, and family.  Smelling turkey, playing games, laughing and not worrying about a thing in the world.

Today their families mourn, and we mourn with them.  Being a father of five, I can speak of the love a parent has for their child.  I know how much it hurts seeing them go through the hardships of life, sometimes pain, but never this.  I cannot possibly imagine.

The bus driver, 24-year-old Johnthony Walker of Chattanooga, Tennessee has been charged with reckless driving, vehicular homicide, and reckless endangerment.  Additional charges may be filed later.

Rescuers worked for hours trying to free the children.  Many were injured and rushed off to the hospital, and some did not make it.

Most of our kids here in the Treasure Valley are off this week for Thanksgiving.  Look at them... love them... take some extra time to appreciate them... and give them a big hug and a kiss.  You're blessed to have them.  Remember that, and please keep these other families in your hearts this holiday season as they try to piece back their families in a time that none of us can possibly imagine.
