Will the Boise State Broncos be in Glendale, AZ on New Year's Eve?

Congrats to our beloved Broncos on another huge win over Utah State on Saturday night! This Saturday, the Broncos will host Fresno State for the Mountain West Championship! When the two teams met in October, Boise State won 37-27. The Mountain West Championship is this Saturday at Albertson's Stadium. Kickoff is at 8:00pm, and the game will be televised on CBS.

So, are the Broncos Fiesta Bowl bound? Here's what needs to happen:

The Broncos are ranked #22 after their win over Utah State Saturday night, and are the highest ranked non-contract school. According to he rules of the new College Football Playoff system, the highest ranked champion from a  non-contract conference will end up in either the Fiesta, Cotton, or Peach Bowl. The Cotton Bowl is in Texas, The Peach Bowl is in Georgia, and the Fiesta Bowl is in Arizona.

If Boise State beats Fresno, they will be the highest ranked non-contract Champion, and will be guaranteed a spot in one of the three bowl games. The Fiesta Bowl seems to be the logical choice for the Broncos, since it's a lot closer than the others making it easier for Bronco Nation to travel. So, if the Broncos beat Fresno State this weekend, they're in!

Early predictions are that the Broncos will face the Arizona Wildcats (#8) on New Year's Eve in the Fiesta Bowl!

Tickets for the 2014 Sports Authority Mountain West Football Championship game are available through the Boise State (208-426-4737) ticket office.
