Gowen Field says goodbye for the very last time to five Apache helicopters that have called Idaho home for the past twenty years.

Hundreds of former National Guard soldiers were on hand swapping stories about their time with these precious birds that did so much for our community.  These Apache helicopters have served as far away as Bosnia and Afghanistan.

Our helicopters will now head to Utah and Gowen Field will be receiving Black Hawk helicopters over the next few months which will add to the two dozen Black Hawks Idaho already has.  Black Hawks hold larger crews and are designed to focus on local missions like search and rescue efforts, wildfires, and troop transports.
