ADA County K-9, Rook has suddenly passed away. Here's his story.

The community is still saddened over the loss of Jardo back in November after an officer involved shooting, now another local K-9 officer is gone.

Rook came all the way from Germany back in 2010 when he was just 2 years old.

He worked with his officer companion Deputy Morgan Case in narcotics detection and patrol deployments.

According to KTVB, Rook's last shift was Wednesday, March 15th. He died from an unexpected and very sudden medical issue, but we don't have any further details.

Rook did amazing work though while he was here.

He scored first place in narcotics detection at the 2012 Idaho Police Canine Association competition and second place for his patrol work.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Deputy Morgan Chase. Losing our beloved animals is just like losing any other member of the family and they obviously had a tremendous bond working together.

RIP Rook.
